Please can you help, I was due to have finished paying off my car on the 30/3/2007, I missed the last 3 months payment by default because I cancelled my Direct Debit and forgot to reinstate it. I only realised when someone made contact by phone to let me know, they wanted £1200 from me or my car by the following day. I had moved address which my finance company had 2 years ago, I have always kept up with my payments in the last 4 years I have had my car. Please help where do I stand legally. Need answers by today please

  • I guess that if you cancelled the DD and forgot to reinstate it, then it is simply a matter of making the repayments and finishing the agreement.

You do still have the money, don't you?

They will be unable to repossess the car without a court order if you have paid more than a certain amount.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)
