I have used morrisions own cheap washing powder for years now but as a house warming gift me and my wife were given these beautiful white 100% cotton bed sheets, As a guy i thought bed sheets were all the same until i got into a bed with these things they are pretty amazing i had no idea sheets could feel so good
Anyway i want to keep these in tip top shape and i would like to know what the best detergent etc is to use on them and any other tops for caring for them?

Hello Jahlove
It might be pricey but I would use Persil (powder) on the beautiful white 100% cotton bed sheets if they were mine.;)
Other forum members will have different suggestions, which will no doubt be cheaper than Persil..............but if you want whites to stay white for years, I find that Persil gives my garments (I don't have any white sheets) brilliant white results.
Anyway, I'll move your thread over the 'Old Style' board, so that you get more views and suggestions.

Hi, You have been moved to OS now, welcome
I get excellent results from Almat which is Aldi's own brand. If you go for a brand then I recommend Ariel. Its not the cheapest but it smells nice, especially after being dried outsidethat's another tip as well.
Also as said above, only ever ever wash with other white things. Just wait until you have a pile of whites.0 -
Ariel or almat here o Aldiss products are as good as the leading brands. And make sure you wash on the right tempature.Ds2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

Make sure you line dry them to maintain the whiteness. The sun will naturally 'bleach' the colour.0

We have been using 'Lidl Formil 2 in 1, Lavender & Camomile' for a long time.
'Lidl Formil Biological' was a Which? Best Buy in January 2012 but it was not in the June 2012 tests.
Don't know why!
Which? June 2012
"Non-bios can't match the all-round stain-removing power of the biological detergents."
1. Aldi Almat with Stain-Lift Bio Powder
Score 82%. £3.29p for 30 washes = 11p per wash
2. Aerial Bio Powder with Actilift
Score 78%. £7.59 for 25 washes = 30p per wash
> Lidl Formil Biological
Which? January 2012 Best Buy.
Good Housekeeping Institute 2011 and 2012, Rating: Approved
> Lidl Formil 2 in 1, Lavender & Camomile
Good Housekeeping Institute 2011, Rating: Approved
£6.49 for 5.1kg.
Which? June 2007
1. Aerial Bio, Best Buy
"Best for stain (3-star) removal". "Will not leave residue". Turn to 30 deg.
2. Persil Bio Powder. also a Best Buy
"Struggles with fatty stain". It did not stop colour fade".
3. Persil NON-BIO. "only 1-star for stain removal."
