ideas for courses/qualifications

Hi.

I know that usually this sort of thing depends on your interests and what you're good at etc, but i'm getting older by the second, and it's clearly never gonna come to me.

I'm in my late 20's now and have worked most of my life, drifting from minimum wage job to minimum wage job (usually warehouse work), whilst all of my friends are earning megbucks.

Most of them knew what they wanted to be when they were kids, and worked towards that. I've never had a clue, and still don't.

I'm looking for ideas for courses/qualifications (the quicker to qulaify-the better) that are ideally considered fairly easy (i'm not very clever) and that can lead to a career that will pay less than minimum wage!

An example of the sort of thing that i'm talking about (although I hope you'll all come up with lots of others for me!) is a car spray painting course. I never knew such things even existed, but a friend of mine was unemployed, took a course on how to spray cars and touch up minor scratches, and was qualified and earning decent money in what seemed like a rather short time!

thanks!!

Join the army, navy or airforce. You will get an excellent grounding and good career prospects.

Can you ask at the place you are currently working if there are any courses they would recommend to help you further your career? This way you will be showing initiative, which the employer will like, and they may even pay for the course for you.

Speak to either your local FE College student services team for advice on courses available or contact National Careers Service, they have someone on these boards so may be worth trying them direct.

Fill in a couple of those aptitude type tests and see where they suggest.
