Halifax and indentification

Myself and my husband are currently applying for a Halifax mortgage and, for complicated reasons, I don't have my driving licence so the only ID I have is my passport. However, this is in my maiden name so I supplied my marriage certificate to show change of name.
But the broker is saying Halifax won't accept this and therefore the mortgage will have to be in my maiden name. Our solicitor is very surprised they won't accept the marriage certificate..Anyone have any experience of this?
Can/should I lean on Halifax directly to get them to accept this? There's no chance of my driving licence being available anytime soon (annoyingly, but that's another story!)

They'll want the proof of ID that they accept to be in exactly the same name as the name they put on the mortgage. No amount of leaning on them will get them to change their mind, if they don't want to do something
When not proceed in your maiden name - you can always get them to amend your name after completion, when you can confirm your married nameEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I thought so
if I change the name afterwards it'll incur fees so I think I'll leave it in my maiden name and just show marriage certificate if/when we sell it on.
