Hi
Just thought I'd let you know - I moved in on Monday and couldn't be happier with the place. It's a beautiful home and really worth the effort! :j0 -
Well done and good luck in your new home. Some of the "helpful" advice you were receiving appeared to be coming from people who treat buying a home the same way you would buy a sack of potatoes.0

Thanks MysteryMe.
I have reduced the amount of times I visit the forum now as I have had lots of helpful advice but some upsetting comments. Not only for that reason - I realise there will always be differing opinions and it is best to make my own decision so that I don't feel that someone has persuaded me to go their way - ie in life not just on the forums! It can be good to get so many views and then weigh them up but there is a down side too.
I gave up an assured shorthold tenancy to live in my new place, and to be honest I was scared of that as I saw it as "security". I now feel more secure as a home owner somehow. My credit rating has jumped up massively and I feel more secure knowing that I can support myself, and having a goal, than in the housing assoc place which is for people when they are vulnerable in some way.
All in all a great move but I must admit it was hard to get there and for a long time along the way I was thinking negatively as it doesn't seem like you are getting anywhere and then suddenly it all changes.:)0
