Police Special tax codes?

Can someone please advise me what the tax code should be on police specials expense claims - eg petrol/travel, meals etc. My OH has been told it will be a BR code, is this correct?

Is there anything he should be claiming/doing with regards to tax and claiming back off the tax man??

Hope someone can help?

    Do they not have a dispensation for that sort of thing that would take tax out of the equation?

    I don't think so. I just know that the pay slips he gets are taxed.

    Seems funny that he has to pay £5 per day for his meal out of his own pocket and then at the end of the month he's taxed on it!

    Same goes for travel, he's taxed on that as well!

    Assuming the expenses are below the HRMC guidelines (40p/mile, receipted food etc) there will be no tax to pay
