Hi again guys,
If somebody isn't on the electoral roll at an address, is it legal? I haven't put my husband down on the roll as I'm scared he'll be traced to this address, where there is and never has been any probs with bad debts( he run up dbts when living at his dads ) He is down on the council tax though.
Cheers for your help guys

with regards to the electoral register, there are 2 lists
1) the full list that is used by the electoral office and the police/court system
2) ammended list where you have the option to have your name and address
removed
It is this 2nd list that can be purchased by any one, ie debt collectors and can be used to try and track people down.
No one else, apart from the ones already mentioned, have access and can use the full electoral register.
So when the forms come round later the year for you to fill out the details who resides at the property - ensure you tick the box saying remove your details from the public register.I am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0 -
Thanks for that, I'll make sure I do that later this year! x0
