Sky unlimited BB+Phone bundle & either Netflix or Lovefilm would be cheaper than Sky TV.
Phew! your fuel costs for both cars are high. Surely the company car has it's fuel paid for by the company ?. If not, then not worth having the company car, but using your own and getting the company to reimburse you at the standard rate (saves on the extra Tax you pay on company cars as well).
Do you need to buy shares each month ?.
You are in a flat, but no mention of maint. charges, or are they in with your mortgage. ?.
Btw your mortgage company does know you intend to rent your flat out don't they ?.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thanks for this - it's in hubby's name so he is calling them on Tuesday to find out what our options are and what will be cheapest to do.

My fuel is £125 and the remainder is my husband's for the company car. He can claim back up to £50 from his company, the rest he has to pay for himself.
Do you need to buy shares each month ?.
I don't but would like to keep this up as I've done it for four years and the first lot are just starting to mature, I see this as my savings plan as if I put money in my savings account I just spend it.
You are in a flat, but no mention of maint. charges, or are they in with your mortgage. ?.
Maintenance charge is £700 annually, payable in Sept/Oct and this always coincides with a bonus my husband gets so we don't need to find this from our monthly budget. No ground rent payable as we extended the lease 2 years ago.
Btw your mortgage company does know you intend to rent your flat out don't they ?
They do indeed - that's a whole other story, we have to pay them £750 a year (!!!) for the priviledge, but needs must. We have another child on the way so have to rent the flat out and rent a small house to accommodate our growing family (currently the two of us and our 20mth old daughter in a one bed flat). Luckily my dad is putting us up until January so we can get a maternity fund going to supplement my maternity pay and reduce our debts.0 -
OP, go with Freesat. Similar to Sky but without the subscription! You just need to pay the cost of the box.
I'd ignore the Virgin thread as the last thing you need is to tie yourself into another contract....DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
VirginM- you have typed the same message over and over again. I would call this 'spamming'.
Pack it in.

You could probably reduce this when the contracts are up by going SIM only or PAYG
Home insurance. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12.00 (contents only)
Your mortgage will insist on building insurance - I assume that is covered somewhere?
Life insurance . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 80.60 I think this is mortgage life insurance and payment protection as well
Find out what it covers - and shop around. Insurance bought at the same time as mortgages is often more expensive.
Food and household shopping . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 300.00 (this includes cleaning products, nappies and cat food/litter)
This is not outrageously high, but it is not low either. I would want to cut this down to give more leeway elsewhere.

I'd suggest redoing the SOA, using the template on this site.
It'll maker it easier for the members to dissect and analyse.0 -
Are the two cats really necessary? While I appreciate that you may be attached to them, perhaps you might consider finding them a loving new home and save yourselves approximately £50 each month with not having to pay pet insurance and their food and litter. You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)0

Stop buying shares and get your debts down; you're more than likely being charged more in interest than what you're earning by investing. Also, I don't think you can afford to give to charity at the moment - can always renew this later once you've paid off your debts.
Do you have the bare minimum TV, broadband and phone package? If not, might be worth seeing if you can save anything there.
Can you get the two contract phones down at all? Are they still in contract? If not, Giffgaff charges £10 a month for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB internet.
That fuel bill is massive. Have you looked into whether public transport would be cheaper/possible? Is all of that driving necessary?
Nothing for Christmas? An SoA only works if you're honest and ruthless about your expenditure. Can you just confirm that you're not going to spend anything at Christmas?
