Mortgage Lender and estate dispute

Hi all. Have posted something similar in another forum, but would like more advice re the mortgage side of things.
Basically there is an ongoing dispute on the estate we are buying with a management company. They been taking money off people but not doing any work. So the estate is not happy about it. Our vendor has paid the service charge until the end of the year.
However, we are now in week 19 and no where near completing. Our solicitor is saying our mortgage lender will not lend us the money if there is an ongoing dispute. But he hasn't clarified any further for us and is requesting more information from the sellers solicitor. I was wondering what is the reason for the lender not lending us the money? There are other people who have moved on to the estate and had no problems. Am worried that this property is a no go, but would like to have thought that we would've been told that by now, 19 weeks down the line. Surely this can be resolved?
