Sorry I am a bit thick when it comes to maths.
I am trying to calculate the value of £4357 before 20% was deducted.

But this doesn't seem to work for me. I cant see what I am doing wrong.
When I try to find 4357 plus 26% of I get 21785
I did say I was thick !!!0 -
TBH I don't actually understand what you are trying to do.
If you are using a calculator you simply key;-
4 3 5 7 press the divide key then 8 0 %.

I am looking at some accounts, the agent takes 26% of the income, money left after taking his 26% is 4357 I am trying to find out how much the original amount was

4357 x 100 / 740

If 4357 is 74% of the total then the total would be £5888
£5888 * 74% = £43570 -
