Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Afternoon everyone
WantToBeSE - That's quite impressive, a zero spend. Can't ever imagine doing that.
Still haven't set a budget yet. Won't need petrol this week. Will need groceries. We have decided to do a weekly meal plan to help with weight control.have most things in but not all. May need a couple of misc items.

Thanks ETOIt's a personal best! I have a few things that i want to save up for, so i am on a personal mission not to spend ANYTHING apart from food shopping, bills and petrol. I get my food and petrol on Fridays, and then keep away from shops until necessary
But I am going to hospital for an OP appointment with my son tomorrow, so i promised him a burger king on the way home, hence the £100 -
Enjoy the burger king WantToBeSE. Nom nom nom.
Right I am going to set a budget of £30.
We will be going grocery shopping but am going to do this from the joint account and do the biggest shop to fill the cupboards so we have food in for meals every night other than fresh stuff.
The £30 is for coffee on thurs with a friend and lunch on Fri with friends/ work colleagues.
Fingers crossed.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Everyone seems to be doing really well so far this week!
I have spent nothing today (woo) and am now watching Wimbledon on the telly box so no plans to move.0
