Toasted sarmies - 2 slices of bread, tomato, onion, cheese salt and pepper. After you done the meat pop sarmies on just watch that the bbq is not to hot and turn over until cheese is melted.
Potato dish - cook couple of spuds till soft, take skin off cut in slices. Fry onions, bacon, mushroom, and garlic together. Layer it in ovenproof dish, and pot of cream loads of cheese and pop in oven until cheese is melted.0 -
Will have to try that banana & mars bar thing. Sounds yummy. If not a tad high on calories, but that's not the point of a BBQ is it. Something that we use to do is simply to cook a banana on the BBQ. It makes the inside go all gooey and yummy.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Two of my fave bbq things - big portobello mushrooms either on their own or stuffed with garlic, sunblush tomatoes and topped with goats cheese. These are a great veggie "burger" if you put them in a bun. Also, banana split longways down the middle (skin on) and stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows, wrap in tinfoil and leave on the bbq for 30 mins or so - comes out all melty and yummy....
Making me hungry now....0 -
Whilst I'm thinking about it......does anyone have a recipie for pork and apple burgers. We had some last year from a butchers when we were on hols, and I would like to make them...when we have a bbq that is.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

on the same line as bananas - we used to do apples, take the core out the middle and fill with mashmallows and chocolate buttons.
..and toasted marshmallows...
honey, ketchup, garlic and soy sauce mixed together on ribs or pork chops
mint sauce, garlic and rosemary on lamb
veggie kebabs - mushrooms, peppers, onions, courgettes (and any other veg you have) grilled on BBQ with a drizzle of olive oil and herbs
garlic bread, wrapped in tin foil and put ontop of BBQ
jacket potatoes wrapped in tin foil and placed in fire!! (or embers is a better idea!) can also be placed on top of BBQ
coleslaw - cabbage sliced, carrots grated (or sliced), onion finely sliced - mix together with mayo, salt and pepper - can add cheese for added richness
mixed salad - any salad items, ie spring onions, lettuce, tomatoes, sweetcorn, etc chopped up and mixed in a bowl......salad dressing to go with!!0 -
- 910 g ground pork
- 1 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and chopped
- 1 sweet onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 60 ml teriyaki sauce
- 1 egg
- 8 hamburger buns
- 1 (20 ounce) can sliced pineapple, drained
Lightly oil grill grate. Grill pork burgers for 10 minutes, or until well done. Toast buns on grill. Serve burgers on toasted buns topped with pineapple slices.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Try using Becles' recipe for the sausages but making them into burger shapes instead - hereMink0 -
Barbecue pudding
For each person - quarter a peach or nectarine, place on a square of double foil, put spoonful of honey or golden syrup on it, wrap it up and cook for about 30 mins until peach is soft. Serve with extra thick double cream.
You could add liqueur or alcohol before cooking.
You could also serve with creme fraiche or yoghurt or ice cream.Mink0
