Hi, can anyone please tell me how much bread flour in Lidl is?
We don't have a Lidl close by but used to make a trip every few months just to stock up on cheap flour. Last time we went it was 80p so same price as Tesco's and not really worth the extra diesel used to drive there.
Since we've almost ran out or flour again I'm wondering whether I should get DH to drive us to Lidl or just buy some in one of the supermarkets so can you please help.
Thanks

With the cost of driving would it really be worth driving just to save a few pennies. I'd be getting enough to keep me going from somewhere nearer until i was going to Lidl.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I agree with Sam, it's not worth the fuel just to save a few pennies on flour (unless you will do a big shop in Lidl).0

I would probably buy 10 bags or flour or so. Lidl is not that far - approx 8 miles but in a direction we don't really normally go.0

We buy bread flour from Lidl, and we've found it very good for the price - 80p last time OH bought some. We have recently had, though, a pack that wasn't very good, in that the loaves ended up very lop-sided when they came out of the breadmaker - which indicated that the dough wasn't rising properly. We thought at first that we were doing something worng, or that the yeast had gone off, but we bought a new pack, and all was fine. Seems like it was a one-off batch.0

I tend to find that most SMs keep their own-brand bread-flours at pretty much the same price and L!dl is 1p cheaper. Sometimes one of them will go off-message e.g. Te$co went over £1 when the others were still at 80p, or one of them will have an offer on, but as a general rule if one goes up, they all go up. I've never known L!dl to be anything more than a couple of pence cheaper so definitely not worth a special trip. My usual branch has just closed - there's another I sometimes pass but otherwise, I'll be using other SM breadflours most of the time.0
