<<whispers>> Would anyone mind having a look at my SOA??

Evening all. Have decided D-Day is this Friday and have gone into meltdown on realising the site is going to be closed for maintenance tomorrow night so... thought I'd better get in quick! If anyone has the opportunity to give me any thoughts on the follwoing, I would be very grateful. Think I am going to get hammered.

This is based on a household of me and my 5 yo son.

SOA:

Rent £860
Housekeeping £260 (this looks low to me)
Gas, electricity, other heating £66
Water £25
Telephone £69 (I know, I know, this includes broadband which I need for work and for college)
Travelling to and from work and other essential journeys - £50 (in form of petrol)
Clothing - £50
Council Tax - £97

OTHER ESSENTIAL PAYMENTS (here's where it gets interesting):

Childcare - £10, School meals - £6, School trips - £1, Child's pocket money - £5, Child's swimming lessons - £13, TV licence - £12, Contents Insurance - £17, AA cover - £10, Car servicing & repairs -£30, Car tax - £17, Motor Insurance - £38, Petrol - £50, Pet food and care - £2, Hairdressing - £20, Sundries and Emergencies - £20, College fees - £100, Mobile (have a contract) - £38 = Total £389.00

GRAND TOTAL £1866.00

Leaving a surplus of £41. I'm going to be mullered by the OR, aren't I?!

    hmmmm, do you think, this is based on Powergen setting my Direct Debit at £26.00 and there is also a gas meter at this property - reckon it takes about £40 a month, bit unclear as only been here 4.5 weeks, but am worried I will fall into debt with Ppowergen, had to find £220 to pay them the outstanding amount left over from last property, so much for payment plans. Think will bump it up a bit. Thanks.

    Pet food and car looks low also, as does your petrol.

    It sure is! You should see the place, it is damp with all this bloomin' rain. :mad: Put the munchkin to sleep in my bed as it seems better in there. Thanks for the feedback. The pet is only a gerbil that came home from school for Christmas, and as much as I tried to give the rodent back, somehow she ended up staying - they saw me coming..!

    Arr bless! I have 2 cats so I have £20 a month for food and litter and £25 a month for pet insurance. At least thats what Ive put down, hope they allow it.

    hi just so u know i have read on here somewhere that u are allowed £60 a month for a modest holiday too not sure how true that is but it might be worth checking out. maybe someone else on here can confirm it for u?

    £60 for hols for one son will be knocked down but try it. better to go in too high and negotiate. Swimming lessons? probably not, that will come out of the surplus. You've accounted for petrol twice so adjust that. Sundries...doubtful. Include dry cleaning. Pocket money for child..probs not. The thing is, it depends on the individual OR for the trivial things but adjust it and we'll fine tune it for you. WE CARE!!!

    31.7.26 Holidays

    Previous guidance stated that an allowance for holidays should not be included in the calculation of funds available for an income payments contribution, other than in exceptional circumstances, for example where a dependant was sick or disabled. Whilst extravagance is not endorsed in this respect, it may be considered a reasonable domestic need to allow the bankrupt and his/her family to benefit from a non-extravagant holiday as a break from routine. Expensive or luxury holidays (particularly if the holiday is abroad) are likely to cause offence to creditors but an allowance of between £60-£80 per month (amounting to £720-£960 per annum) for a household of 4 people should allow the bankrupt and his/her family sufficient funds to take a moderate annual holiday. Should the bankrupt consider this allowance insufficient to fund a holiday, he/she should be informed that any additional holiday cost that he/she may wish to incur must be funded from the amount of surplus income left with him/her after deduction of the assessed IPA/IPO contribution.
    I've seen the OR allow up to £40 per month for an individual, but you never know. Yours might cut it down to less.

    They should allow something though.
