Never tried anything like that before, but looks like it would be good with a pack (or 2 ...or 3!) of tortilla chips!
Thanks again
I love refried beans generally, they're such a cheap addition to a meal. Try this Phil, top a flour tortilla with shredded iceberg lettuce, then refried beans, then a bit of cooked chicken, then some chopped tomato (or salsa if you're feeling posh) and grated cheese. Like you say though, good as a dip, great in a quesadilla. Lots of uses and very cheap.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Thanks for the idea, sounds good.
Can you freeze refried beans? Would be good to have some ready to microwave for when we have wraps etc0 -
Morning toughies, I actually have a free morning today, I could be doing allsorts but have decided to just sit for a bit and chill out, its been very stressful few days and I haven't been sleeping well.
Possession - excellent news on the house, I do hope the mortgage goes through quickly for you.
Pooky - enjoy your trip, I am rather jealous
Monnagran - my DD20 does that all the time, she will put the full oven on to heat two small hash browns! Drives me batty
Well the deed is done, I have found a car!! We travelled 90 miles on Sunday to view, placed a deposit and came home to sort the finance, we have had to take a loan for half the cost, but with what we will save on running costs and by having a newer more reliable car the payments will be covered. But the stress of actually applying for a loan and going through it all was remarkable, and while my head said it would be ok, it didn't stop the rest of me panicking. But last night it was all arranged and agreed so I can stop stressing.
Its lovely to get up and not have a list of cars to look at in between everything else . Although we do have to go back at the weekend to collect
For anyone considering a new SC, our TJs has a SC trio at the moment, which is three 2.5l SC in one long thingy! All with different controls etc. To be honest if I had room for it I would be seriously considering it0 -

Possession - Good news on your house offer, I can remember having a panic attack when I got mine!
Well, I'm off work again, felt rotten so went to the doctors and I am apparently in perfect health! Why then do I feel so bad? I have come to the conclusion that I don't do poorly very well!
It's quite interesting sat here during the day, I have seen folk walking up and down, children going to nursery and our road is used for learner drivers practicing their turn in the road - that's the 6th one just pulled up!
The weather is quite nice but don't have the energy to enjoy it today, hope it's like this next week as I am going to an outdoor centre with some children from school for 3 days (and 2 nights!).0 -

Rant alert, look away now.... this morning I passed a house in the next street. It had Christmas decorations in the windows and around the front door.
It's only the 18th of November!!!!!! Far too early....the young children in that house will be so wound up thinking Christmas is nearly here, and the decorations will collect so much dust in the next five weeks that it will all be a stressy, shabby mess come Christmas Eve.
We put our decorations up mid December, say 10 to 14 days before the event, plenty soon enough.
Some folks have no sense at all.

I completely agree. We put our tree up about 10 days before xmas and that's MORE than enough time. There has been a tree up a couple of streets away for a week now. It's just crazyDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

If my children were young and both at home I think the best time for putting up the decorations would be the day after schools break up for the holidays, which is around the 20th. You could make a family tradition out of cleaning and decorating the house on the first day of the school holidays, it would really mean that Christmas was near.
And I would ban all TV Christmas adverts before the 1st December. Unlikely to happen of course, heaven help the quarterly accounts if shops don't put out the Christmas stuff in September! One life - your life - live it!0 -
I completely agree with you both over the Christmas. When my older two were very young the local authority decided to take two weeks off the summer holiday and give an extra two weeks holiday before Christmas to save on fuel. They had their Christmas party around this date and finished around the 5th December. The kids drove us round the bend they fully expected Christmas to come about a week after they broke up. It never happened again. No doubt councilors have children.
Hope you get your mortgage OK Possession.0
