Hi Everyone,
What a long day!!
After many sleepless nights, i was declared bankrupt today!!:j
On entering the high court (9am) i thought i had walked into hogwarts, its so big and very grand, i expected harry potter to pop out at any minute. The staff there were really friendly and understanding. I had someone from the personal support unit to show me where to go, anyone who goes to the strand make sure you phone and use this service. Handed forms in by 10.30 and was told to come back at 2.30pm. I had to take my 2 sons with me today, so took them for a wander and lunch. Was back by 2.00pm and sat and waited and waited... There was a problem with there photocopier and could not gives us our copies:mad: . Eventually they sorted it and i was handed my petition back at 4.15pm. As it was late the lady at the court said i would not have to take my paperwork to the OR today. They would send it internally and the OR will give me a telephone interview. Finally left the court at 4.25pm. :T Walking out of the court i felt like a big weight had been lifted. Looking at my 2 beautifuls sons (ages 7 & 11) i thought our lives can begin again. I know i still have to speak to OR, but after surviving the court i feel i can survive anything(at the moment anyway)
Thank you all,for all your support. I couldnt of done it without this forum.

Well done - it is a long day, isn't it, but at the end of it you do feel that you've climbed one of the biggest hurdles you ever will in life.

As for the staff of the PSU, I'm glad you found them helpful. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Glad you feeling so much better.
Time for a good nights sleep, i'm guessing? The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

I am looking to go bankrupt but a debt of Just £8500. My situation is that i do not own a house (i rent a room in a shared house), i have a car which i am the reg. keeper but my wife paid for it...i have bank accounts with overdraft everymonth...i have a job etc.
Now, if i go bankrupt what is the 1st thing that i will loose ?...can i loose my car ? how about smaller properties like mobile fone, computer, laptop etc ? can you pls update me. thank you0 -
4ever if you start your own thread then people will see it easier.
One of the first things you have to do is ring one of the debt charities for proffesional advice. They will tell you what your options are. It is one of the first questions the judge will ask you is if you have sought proffesional advice. So ring CCCS, National Debtline or the CABBSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
4everonline, are you sure bankruptcy is the only option with debts of £8,500? have you taken professional advice?BCSC Member 70:j
