Halifax Mortgages - 'soft' searches only?

Has anybody completed on a Halifax mortgage with only a few 'soft' searches left on CRA reports?

I bank with Halifax, and went through AIP and full application with only a few 'mortgage quotation' searches by Halifax/Lloyds - I was expecting at least a full search after exchange but none so far.

Is it possible that as an existing customer borrowing 75%LTV they have decided not to bother with a full search? I was only asked for 1 months payslip/bank statement during full application - is that considered an 'A' pass?

Hi,

Halifax only do soft searches. You will see them as an inquiry in your credit report and not a mortgage search. They might do it if absolutely required but as per my conversation with Halifax, they only do soft searches.

Also, Halifax is just asking for 1 months salary slips if its straight forward basic salary and 3 months salary slips if the salary includes any overtime, bonus, commission etc. which I think is bare minimum compared to some other lenders.
