Cash Plus Card - Mastercard debit

We transfered money on to one of these card to save money for a holiday. My husband used it at a cash machine that turned out had a false front on it and they cleared the card of the money. The bank that owns the machine its not their problem and the issues of the Mastercard debit card say its not on them. We are talking hundreds of pounds. we reported to the poice and a lawyer says we can't legal aid and if we lose we would need to pay costs. Can anyone help please. i don't see why we lose our money when it as criminals that put a false front on the cash machine.

    If you had lost a purse or wallet full of cash you obviously wouldn't blame the bag manufacturer. So it's a tricky one. However I would say you have a claim against the card insurer. You didn't authorise the withdrawal and did not give away the PIN. Cash plus is UK based so you don't need a lawyer. You can complain to the financial ombudsman.
