Christmas cake

Options
I have a week off in July and I want to make a start on all my Christmas bits if I can, one thing I would like to do is make Christmas cakes.
I was wondering if anyone has any recipes for Christmas cakes, full of alcohol that are meant to be left for almost 6 months?

TIA x

On the Old style Christmas prep for Christmas 2013, post 141 has a lovely recipe, I will toddle off and see if I can find you the link. I am thinking of making it this weekend :D

Yes. Whack some booze in it.

Back in the day a tier of the wedding cake was saved for the couples first child's christening. So I think 6 months will be fine.

If you can find the recipe anywhere, Lorraine Pascale's boozy Christmas cake is DELICIOUS. We made it last year. It was so moist and yummy.
