Capquest and 6 yr limitation

Capquest are chasing me for an apparent debt owed to Capital One. I sent the limitation template letter from here on 11th April and today I have recieved a letter from them including statements from Capital One showing the last payment I made was processed on 26th April 2001.
What is my next step? Am I covered by the limitation act? They have said I need to pay and have offered me various options and if I don't contact them by 3rd June they will pass it to their collections dept.
Can anybody advise me please.

If you sent the response on the 11th then you were under the 6 year limit albeit by days.Barclaycard 3800

That's what I thought, but is was sent without acknowledging the debt and just asking for proof of the debt,if i had realised how close it was I would have waited. I still don't know what to do next.0
