Jail Reckless Bankers?
Comments
-
Most big time criminals are sent to prison, so why not these bankers who have committed fraud and theft on a massive scale and turned a blind eye to 100s of billions of dollars of drug money being laundered through their branches.
Lock them up for 10 years but allow them out everyday for a couple of hours community service like wiping the sh1tty 4rses of old people in homes
And then, in line with the proceeds of crime rules, every single asset that they own down to the change in their pocket should be taken off them.
If their families are left homeless, tough.
This would act as a deterrant to any other lying, thieving crook who thinks it's OK to game the system in their favour and cover their misdemeanors by changing the laws to make their crimes retrospectively legal.0 -

What are the crimes that have been commited?
Reckless misconduct, whatever that maybe, guess that is why they want a new laws formulating to be able to prosecute on those grounds and not use bits of other laws that might be open to interpretation;)"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
"big business is parasitic, like a mosquito, whereas I prefer the lighter touch, like that of a butterfly. "A butterfly can suck honey from the flower without damaging it," "Arunachalam Muruganantham0 -
AFAIK there is no such offence as reckless misconduct. You cannot prosecute someone for a crime that does not exist.0

Well considering how well paid they were, they should have foreseen the problem they were causing. If not then why do they get paid so much? The apologists always claim that without the big bucks they could not attract the talent but you could pay any Tom, !!!!!! or harry the nmw to lose billions. Since 2008 Sir Fred and his chums have proven paying over the top is no guarantee of success.
Anyway being a banker is not that hard, all you need is luck which is why it is often likened to gambling.AFAIK there is no such offence as reckless misconduct. You cannot prosecute someone for a crime that does not exist.
In 'hindsight' lots of people have blamed the lack of ''proper regulation'. There has been lots of talk about how the banking system will be forced to change. But just recently the Cooperative Bank has 'suddenly' revealed that it is in serious trouble. How was that allowed to happen? It would probably be easier and quicker to create a crime of 'reckless mismanagement' (or something similar) than to create any real change in the bankers' mindset by any modification of the current shared values of politicians and bankers.None of which actually happened in practice.
P.S. Am I the only one who realises that the UK railway system has actually gone bankrupt in living memory.
P.S.S. OK entered 'railway administration'. Same difference if you ask me tho'
Maybe the banks should be 'franchised' to operate the country's economy in the same way that railway companies are franchised to operate the rail system. They could then be replaced if found wanting.
TruckerT...According to Clapton, I am a totally ignorant idiot.0
