Mortgage to buy home for parent?

Hello, I'm new here so be gentle with me.
I live in the north east of England, currently at home with mother, and we are both contributing towards the rent. She works, although doesn't earn enough for a mortgage, and I'm currently on a temp contract so can't get one either.
However I have been offered a job in Glasgow, and I am hoping to move up there. The plan is to rent a flat as cheaply as I can in Glasgow, and hope that I can get a mortgage to buy a home for my mother to live with back in England. I know this will be difficult, but is it possible to get a mortgage in such a situation. We have a good deposit.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Do think about the future
will you ever want to buy your own home ?
already having a mortgage will affect the affordability of teh second mortgage0 -

Yes, but at the moment the priority is to find something for her. I can't really get myself sorted while she continues to rent indefinitely. At least If I get a mortgage there will be some sort of stability0 -
Two lateral matters which you may not have thought about yet:
1. Would your mum be paying you rent?
If so, you need to look into the laws about being a Landlord:

2. Will she need to claim Housing Benefit?
If so, you'll need to google 'contrived tenancy' because unless you can demonstrate that you are charging her full market rent, the council may refuse to pay the HB.0
