Help Help Help! A Question Regarding BACS

I am in the process of setting up an IVA and my creditors meeting is next Wednesday. As such Payplan advised me to open a new bank account, which I did a month ago. Despite telling my boss otherwise he has paid my wages this month into my old account with HSBC which is frozen because of the IVA proposal. My boss told me he made the transfer last Thursday so it's likely it is already in the HSBC accountt, which I cannot check as they've blocked my pin, etc. Do you know if my boss can reclaim that BACS payment or can HSBC keep it? I am so stressed as I now have absolutely no money at all and not sure if this can be sorted. My boss cerrtainly won't pay me another wage to compensate.

    If you still have your cheque book write out cheques to cover your wages and pay them into your new account. Make sure the cheques are 9.99 each etc so that they cannot be bounced.

    I would call HSBC and explain. When Natwest closed my account and cancelled my overdraft they allowed me to withdraw my months salary that had just been paid in. They said that they were allowed to and that they were not allowed to leave you without any money. Have you called payplan to ask their advice?

    RIGHT OF APPROPRIATION

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx

    I am writing to inform you that I am due to have a Tax Credit payment of £xxx paid into my account on xx/xx/xx, and I wish to use my first right of appropriation for this money, for the following purposes;

    Rent £xx
    Utilities bills £xx
    Housekeeping money £xx

    I will withdraw the money on the day that it is deposited for the above use, and I would be grateful if you would ensure that any other payments out of my account do not interfere with this withdrawal.

    Yours faithfully,
