Essential living items; can I do this?

As some of you know i'm going BR next week. However I'm also going back to work in a month and need to get work clothes and shoes (been on maternity leave and don't fit in old clothes just yet!). If I buy a few items ahead of my BR will this be frowned upon? I don't think I'll have the money to afterwards and then I'll be scuppered when I go back to work.
TIA!
TIA!

I don't see why there should be a problem. If you limit yourself to just the basics (skirt/trousers, shirt, a pair of shoes & a cardi) or about £100 (whichever is the lesser of the two) & keep the receipts, then you can explain to the OR why you had to buy them & prove how much you spent.

Thanks for that, wherediditallgo. :T
Can I also give my boyfriend £200 to pay the bills? He gets paid in a few days and there's a shortfall every month whilst I'm not paying bills.0
