Hello lovely DFWers.
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
- check online banking and start working out June's budgets
- not increase my debt in any way
- get more of my "old chestnut" paperwork tackled
- put in a claim for a refund I had forgotten about
- be positive
- send everyone with pack ups
- make storecupboard dinner
Have a good day everyone xx

Afternoon all! Today I have:
- got together what I need to send out an Amazon CD.
- listed another book on Amazon.
- got into the swing of only switching on the hot water when I *need* it, and not "just in case".
Later on I'll be:
- sending off the Amazon parcel.
- listing more on Amazon (annoyed that some of what I tried to list doesn't have a sale code so isn't eligible, but some of the prices really surprised me - a little cookery book I bought for 15p 30 years ago sells for minimum £1, and a CD by a cult American TV actor goes for £17!! *Good* surprises, of course.
- finishing off my accounts work on my bankings (and therefore clearing the table, phew).
- doing some analysis of my financial practice.
- sitting down with a cup of coffee and a bar of chocolate - need a reward today, I did too much work and had too much cheese yesterday, felt terrible this morning, completely my own fault, and yet I got through the paid work I had (one more hour to go) so after posting Amazon, its definitely some *me* time.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
'Tis a terrible thing to be boastful
, but MSE Martin pressed my 'thanks' button this morning on another thread and it has absolutely made my day :j . I have wandered about with an inexplicably daft
on my face, even my mum asked me what was up, and it made me even more specially determined not to spend any money today (in the face of much temptation) :T . Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
Today I have/will
- had a NSD
- collected some curtains from freecycle
- Staying up until midnight just so I can make my debt repayments when my wages hit my account!
- Listing more books on Green Metropolis (if I can drag myself away from the boards!)
