Failed appeal- who's right?

Advice please. I appealed a parking fine with this argument (which is factually correct, there was no sign where I parked):
'The spot on which I parked did NOT have a notice saying it was restricted in anyway, and there were no lines on the spot I parked on. Nearby there were restriction notices but the place where I parked was separated from these areas, on both sides, with white lines on the road. This suggested to me that the spot on which I parked was thus not subject to the restrictions. There is a lamppost next to where I parked and it has no restriction notices attached to it.'
The appeal has been rejected. Do I just pay up? Its my local council which has issued the fine.
Cheers

You don't say who ticketed you, can you provide that please ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Well there can be many appeal points, I gather the council has turned down your appeal, but you haven't been to the adjudicator as yet ? I would advise posting on https://www.pepipoo.com for this as well, they need to see a redacted images of your PCN both sides and signs or google street view link can help. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
