Failed appeal- who's right?

Advice please. I appealed a parking fine with this argument (which is factually correct, there was no sign where I parked):

'The spot on which I parked did NOT have a notice saying it was restricted in anyway, and there were no lines on the spot I parked on. Nearby there were restriction notices but the place where I parked was separated from these areas, on both sides, with white lines on the road. This suggested to me that the spot on which I parked was thus not subject to the restrictions. There is a lamppost next to where I parked and it has no restriction notices attached to it.'

The appeal has been rejected. Do I just pay up? Its my local council which has issued the fine.

Cheers

Well there can be many appeal points, I gather the council has turned down your appeal, but you haven't been to the adjudicator as yet ? I would advise posting on https://www.pepipoo.com for this as well, they need to see a redacted images of your PCN both sides and signs or google street view link can help.
