Chuckle-butt debt free by Christmas 2013

Hi All,
I have previously had a very short diary on here that i was not very good at keeping up to date, that was a couple of years ago now, but i would like to start a new one as my circumstances have changed.
A bit about me. I am 33 (nearly 34), married with 2 gorgeous children DD 3 and DS 10 months.
I am not long back from mat leave, and am determined to get rid of this debt as soon as possible.
The debt....
My spreadsheets show :-) that in March 2011, my debt totalled 22705:eek:, well today it stands at 7507, so over 15000 paid off in just over 2 years.

I have been a lurker on MSE for the past few years, so i know all the tricks on raising extra money and cutting down on spending etc, so what i have to do now is put it all in place.
I aim to pay 1000 off the debt every month, so far this month i have paid off 921, so i need to pay off another 80, which will be hard as there is not much left, but i can but try.

I want to use this diary to keep me motivated and to remind myself of how far i have come and of what i have left to do!!

Ah thanks Mara, i know, my sums dont really add up, i aim to be debt free by christmas and i aim to make overpayments of 1000 per month, but that will not make me debt free for christmas, so i am also hoping for a miracle .

Well not too much happening here as it is not pay day til next friday, so i am just trying to spend as little as possible until then and hopefully have 80 pounds left to pay off the debts.

I have just worked out that i have not been paying off the credit card with the highest interest, so i will have to pay the V*rgin CC first, it stands at 2061.24 today, so my aim is to have it paid off by the end of Aug.

Goin to grab a cuppa, have a nice day all.

Well, it is nearly pay day (Friday phew), i have 22 pounds in my bank and 40 pounds in my purse, the aim was to pay off an extra 1000 pounds in the month of june, and i am currently at 921, so doesnt look like i will meet the whole 1000, but if i dont spend anymore between now and friday, i will be able to pay off the 62 which will mean i have overpayed by 983, oh if only i could find the extra 17 pounds, mmm well i still have until friday to get it, and if not well 983 isnt that bad.

Well payday has come and gone, i managed to overpay by 969 pounds in June, my aim was 1000, but i couldnt quite manage it, although am quite pleased with the amount i payed off.

My aim to overpay in July is also 1000, i have so far managed 500, so only 500 to go :-) eeek. Money looks tight already, but i will keep trying.

My OH will transfer 200 to my account on thurs, i aim to pay 130 off that towards my debt... thats the plan

I paid off 130 to my sister, so that is her all paid off :T.
I would like to pay another 70 off the debts before next thurs, might not be doable, but i will try.
I think if i be very careful with the grocery shopping for the week i could do it. We shall see.

Wel, it is now thurs and i did not manage to pay 70 off the debt, in fact i didnt manage to pay off anything . I spent far too much on groceries, and had the girls around last nite, and went overboard on nibbles!!

Ah well, i will just have to try harder, money is tight this month, and if i was to reach my 1000 overpayment for this month, i still need to pay 370 off, mmm i dont think that is possible, but i will try to be good and pay off as much as i can.

At least the sun is shining, it makes everything seem sooo much better.

well i only managed to pay off an extra 630 in july, not exactly 1000 eh, but at least it is going down!!

I got paid today so paid off 535 today.
I am also going on hols this month so it will be hard to pay off much more as i need the money for my hols, also my OH will not be working whilst on hols therefore no money :cool:.

Ah well today my debt currently stands at 6183.06, so i would def like it to be below 6000 by the end of the month.

Also, i have budgeted 70 pounds per week for groceries for this month, 40 per week for diesel and 50 per week for entertainment (treats).
I am going to try and keep note of my spendings on this diary so i can keep track.
The week starts today (wed) and i leave for my hols on 27th (tues) so last week only has 6 days of budget.

Well today i have spent 8 pounds on fruit, so that leaves me with 62 pounds groceries left.
No other spends.
