Why does that not surprise me.
I have only used PC world when a hard drive died at about 6pm one night. And my local PC world was open until 8pm.
Then it was a duff drive as the 1st sector was damaged so could not installed anything on to it after hours of trying and had to take it back.
Other wise would not touch with a barge pole comes to mind.

I ordered some stuff on line and PC World sent me the wrong item. After hearing nothing for about 5 days I phoned again and there was much arguement on the phone about when I had first advised them of this and asked for a returns label. In the end several members of staff in their call centre called me a liar. Next day I had a letter from them in response to my original phone call and that confirmed the date that I had phoned. PC World still couldnt get their act together and I ended up speaking to somebody for 14mins on an 0870 number - they refused to call me back even though I requested them to several times. Eventually I asked them if they knew what the item was that they had sent me in error. They admitted that they didnt. I told them the item I ordered was worth about £12 but the item they sent me was worth several hundred pounds (not true). I gave them a deadline to collect and then I would sell item on e-bay. They never collected and I never got the apology that I asked for either. PC World will NEVER get my business again nor that of the many many people I have told this to. Stupid, stupid, stupid PC World staff, (allegedly)I'm not wav  ing, I'm drowning!0

Pc world stick as far as im concerned, we bought a patriot pc from there in february and it started going wrong and it took a while to find out whether software or hjardware fault as we hadnt taken the extended warrenty we thought 1 year parts was fine for us, as it turned out it was the hard drive that was faulty and called them to be told pc service call will come out and fix it as your pc is outwith the 28 day warrenty apparently everything in pc wrold is only covered by them for 28 days, so ok the guy came out swapped over the drive and walked back out, i challanged him regarding the nature on the sheet it said extraction errors but he wasnt interested at all he told me all would be fine, but it wasnt 20 mins after he walked out the door machine again started showing errors, i spent over an hour on the helpline and they couldnt help me either, so we took pc back to pc world as it wouldnt complete recovery, they said they couldnt touch it and i would have to let the guy back but pc service call said they couldnt fix it so effectivley we were going to be left with a £500 doorstop so i really wasnt happy, then the words trading standards came into things and the guy offered to try himself and that i would/should know more in a few days - ok i still wasnt happy but if they could fix better than nothing as they at this point refused to refund ok machine left i came home and called trading standards and they told me my rights, call came from pc world - pc needing new motherboard and processor and another component too and that is after a new harddrive and replacement parts would be of same quality - stop! i wasnt accepting that and quoted what t.s. had told me to say and things changed big style i had effectivley allowed repair on 3 occasions and it still wasnt fit for what i bought it for i was well within my rights to a refund now, from there on the couldnt be nicer or more apologetic and went in the next day for a full refund.
What about the people who would accept this, the people who dont access this forum and can ask advice, i think its terrible that a big name like pc world could get away with this and no where in store is it mentioned 28 days warrenty with them even when i asked the sales rep when buying i was told 1 year. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
