Could anyone offer me advice on any good exercise bikes?
I want a fairly good one but not top of the range either.. How much would i need to spend? Anyone know the best brands/models?

A real bike is far more fun and motivational...
  • I have both , must say i use the bike more than the exercise bike (york 3350) which i have had a few years . Tho in good weather its good to get out in the fresh air with the kids.

I recently bought a racer bike and the guy who sold it me threw in a turbo trainer.

What is a turbo trainer i hear you ask?

You clip you back wheel into this and then pedal away, its like a glorified excerise bike however you have the ability to, when its nice, take your bike out for a propper ride and enjoy the nice weather, in the cold months you can still carry on training without the poor weather.

You can get them on ebay for around £50 and i dont know how much you were going to spend on a excerise bike but £100 will get you a starting mountain bike or hybrid so for £150 you've got the best of both.

    Just a thought!

just bought this one. Buy something for £1 or so to bring you above £30 and use google checkout for a brand new excercise bike for well less than £30
    Pretty good bike too IMO

i bought one from argos a few years back. If you come and collect it from me, u can have it for £50. I prefer to ride a real bike, the wind in the face and all that.

Also try advertising on your local freecycle site. Someone might have one which is gathering dust.
  • :rotfl: Mine is gathering dust atm , but thats because i have a normal bike and treadmill to use and have no room for the exercise bike atm , so its in the garage
  • I've just dumped an exercise cycle after getting sick of the sight of it - never used...We have mountain bikes and I'm about to buy a cycle trainer instead - used one last year and it makes much more sense than a exercise cycle.
