Totally Let Down by Halifax - any advice?
Comments

Bare in mind every lender and indeed every Solicitor has to satisfy themselves as to the source of the deposit................
If you say it's savings or a gift they will usually want some proof of this.0 -
From what we can see Halifax have not been given a clear explanation of the source of the deposit at outset.
If they discovered after the event that you were borrowing some of the deposit I cannot see why you can have any complaint with them.
As it sits you may need to consider some short term bridging funding if you need to complete in 11 days.
In the meantime, if the French property is key to the deposit funds you need to get it shifted fast if you want an affordable long term lending solution.
Speak to your broker and solicitor and take their advice - its what you pay them for.I am a Mortgage Broker
