It looks a bit grey and overcast here but it is not raining so cross fingers it will get nicer later.

Youngest is about to go for driving lesson with DH and once they are back I should be able to set off to Leeds with oldest to look for summer jacket for her and maybe treat ourselves to lunch.

Have home made soup and a plate of chicken new potatoes and veg that can be popped into microwave for DH's lunch and depending on the weather will make grilled chicken with either potatoes or salad or stir fry tonight.

Middle dd has arrived safely in Brussels for business trip and will be back late tomorrow and other oldest is going to France later this week. Everyone seems to be jetsetting but me ;)

It would do everybody such a lot of good to have some nice weather - not a heatwave or anything but just nice enough to eat outside or sit in the garden with a book without freezing your extremities off. I keep hearing coughs everywhere and if in chemists hear nearly everyone wanting advice on sore throats etc.
and this is in the middle of June

Hope Hester has a better day at work and the numpties don't get her down.

    Hug to all

    Morning Halight and all,

my word did I have some weird dreams last night! Everything i'd seen, done and heard over the weekend came back and I replayed back in my dreams. Everything I wanted to say to people but couldn't out of fear of offending them, I found myself telling them all in the luxury of my own dreams. I was shattered by the time I woke up but at least I slept through and Millie dog didn't get me up.

Hubby has just phoned me to complain about his sandwiches (again). He wanted something different, I gave him something different and he didn't like it. Oh well, never mind! Ive told him he is going to have to start getting his own stuff for work again and telling me nightly what he wants as i'm not a mind reader.

Household jobs almost completed. I just need to vacuum the stairs and I can catch up on other jobs until tea.

Ive been asked to go to the next school reunion. I wormed my way out of the last one I don't think I can worm my way out of this one without upsetting people.

Tea.... I think will be pasta bake.

Have a good day all :)

Summer. The new urban myth <rolls eyes> :rotfl::rotfl:
Yep you guessed it I am heartily sick of the pants weather. I don't know why I bother buying summer dresses and nice tops etc when it's patently clear I won't get to use them. And people wonder why I am more of a "winter" girl......least then the weather is consistent ;)

Enough moaning from me. I've baked a cake, hoovered, walked Luna, organised some stuff to be collected via free cycle and just scoffed my lunch. H is off today and is supposed to be taking me up to charity shop so we can deposit some donations (parking is a mare so it's easier with two). Also need to pop to sainsburys for some yogurts for kids (DS won't eat the aldi variety).

Tea will be HM chicken curry.

Hugs and spoons all round x

Halight good news on sleep :)

    Hi everyone.

    I'm quite late today.

I had a load of eBay payments overnight, so first thing I got the parcels packed up, so they could be included in the morning parcel run. The parcel run tends to take longer these days as I usually have a few Collect Plus parcels now, in addition to the Royal Mail parcels.

When I'd got all that sorted I got on with the housework, and now I'm having a break for lunch.

The sun has tried to come out, but seems to have gone back in. It does seem warmer than of late. I'm sitting here without a cardigan, and not wishing I could put the heating on. That's a first for this summer!

Several months ago, DH sent away for his dad's army records. His dad was a prisoner of war, and never spoke about his wartime experiences. So DH wanted to learn more about what happened to his dad. A large brown envelope has arrived this morning, so I think this is the information he has requested. I'll be interesting to look at this evening.

My own dad couldn't stop talking about the war, but he was a natural born story teller. At some point I'd like to get my dads army records, just to find out what bits are true!

Dinner tonight will be a tomatoey chicken casserole.

    Have a good afternoon all.

Its odd. The people who are making the most noise about it are the people who left the area.

I'm still in the area (same house actually). Maybe I would feel the same if i'd moved half way across the country.

I'll probably make the effort this time. I cant pull the same 'virus' story again as it'll look obvious.

Who knows, I might just enjoy myself....that's if anyone remembers me..... and i'm staying well away from the boys who used to blow the frogs up in the school garden.:( I have a very long memory.;)

I cant remember the last time I had a night out on my own.

    Afternoon all!
Was a touch on the delicate side this morning, after having a few refreshments with my friend and her mum yesterday but we had a good old reminiscence day, with lots of hugs from her daughter as we don't have daddies anymore to cuddle!
Have washed 2 loads, including something paper left in a pocket, so have hovered the living room, hall and 2 bedrooms, cant see the floor in DS's room so he can do that! 2 overflowing basketloads have put the new iron through its paces, and I am sitting here like a sweaty blob as this house is boiling even with every window open!
Will have a browse, then think about some veg to go with dinner, took some roast beef in gravy out of the freezer so will heat that up for me and DD.
Right, enjoy the rest of the day!
    RIP Iain

    Evening all
    Work was........work, lol.
I left work at 3 to take hubby to the Dr's, he's sprained his thumb/wrist, last week sometime, it's not broken but very swollen, he's having tomorrow off to rest it as it was ok all over the weekend but it's flared up as there is so much to do at work.
Came out the Dr's surgery & the car wouldn't start, had to wait for DS to rescue me, it's the battery, he'll get me a new one tomorrow. I gave him tea for helping me & I'll do the same tomorrow. I didn't get home til 6 and my DD's are due at 7, so I'm having a browse til they arrive.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
