Credit card problems

I managed to go a bit mad with my credit card with lloyds tsb at begining of jan and run the debt up to £4k. Due to unforseen circs i now cannot afford to make any payment what so ever. i am overdrawn all the time.
I today was issued with a default notice. i told them in march i was having problems and showed a breakdown of my monthly outgoings.
What can i do they will not write my debt off so to speak. can i offer to make a partial payment of a few hundred pounds an they forget the rest.
Sorry for vagueness but i want to move home and don't want this affecting me.

See if you can open a new basic bank account to have salary paid into, so that it's not swallowed by your overdraft each month and then slowly pay the overdraft back.
If you can't afford to make any payments at all on your debts, then please contact CCCS, who will offer you help free of charge. They may be able to negotiate lower payments for you.
Can you post a SOA? (incomings and outgoings each month) and we can suggest ways you might be able to cut down on spending or move your debts to lower interest rates...0
