You go on to the Companies House website and search from there. It does cost you though.

    Hi Daisy

Go to https://www.companieshouse.co.uk and they have their webcheck service. You enter the name of the company and it tells you what documents they have on file, directors appointments, last accounts made up to, if there are any accounts outstanding etc. When you download the company accounts it also tells you how many company appointments each director holds - not just for their own company but other companies as well. There is a small charge for each document (between £1 - £2) but you can save a copy for your records.

You can also get details of the property they have from the Land Registry, you can get it online at : http://www.landregisteronline.gov.uk/lro/index.html

They charge you for the information, but you can see the title deeds, details of any mortgage on the house, how much the house was sold for and when. It cost me about £8 per property or you can download form 313 and send it in by post to get the details back.

You may as well pay for the whole thing and send it in with the appeal - highlighting the discrepancies and he will be given the chance to respond. You can get the accounts and directors' remuneration etc which may be different to what he is declaring. It is well worth paying and going over it all with a fine tooth-comb!
