Hope you are all well. Well done to todays winners.
I am having a lovely time. Met wingo in Redcar yesterday as I think she has mentioned. It was lovely to finally meet her and her family. Have ben to Whitby and Pickering today and visited the Abbey and castle. The forecast was for rain all day but just had some in the morning for an hour so really pleased. Feeling tired out with all the wandering about.
Just logged in in time to see I had missed the Beefeater £10 vouchers. Had just been for a meal there though and used the free steak one I won last time . DH had a £16.45 steak with it. Also used a £10 voucher from their rewards scheme (was double up last month) so had a really nice meal and drinks for under £20. Still have 30% off vouchers to use anyway so can't complain.
Got free internet here so going to check out some comps now.
Will be heading home tomorrow but calling in to visit Middleham Castle and a few other places on the way.

Only been to York, Scarborough, National Trust gardens and saw those golf ball thingies in Yorkshire.

Sorry ILC but never watched Heart Beat so don't know. It is a lovely town though with wonderful views. Has 199 steps up to the church and abbey which we always feel we have to climb! It is a bit similar to Scarborough but smaller.
Wingo is just like I thought she would be - really nice and friendly.
Think the golf ball things at Fylingdales seem to have gone now - replaced by a pyramid thing.

Do you ever feel like a complete plonker? Just went to get some ice to have a night cap with and because we have stayed in this hotel before but at the other side of it I headed back to the wrong side!

Aw thanks Sheils :kisses3: you & your DH were just as lovely and friendly as I imagined too. Maybe when I get my kitchen done (sometime in this distant universe) if you're passing this way again maybe pop in for a coffee. I felt guilty for holding you up chatting away! I never realised you were only staying five mins from my house, I thought you were in the heart of Guisborough! Glad you had a great time in Whitby and Pickering. I love Whitby, very traditional. Yes, I'm afraid the Golf Balls went a few yrs ago. It always looks so gloomy over Flyindales were they were so now it's even gloomier without them. Enjoy the rest of your break and safe journey home.

I would love to watch the 99p films ILC but I only have freeview and nothing else! There is often good ones on movie mix and film 4 which I like to watch.

Just had a lovely shower and now I've livened up now!

Could have done with you to keep us chatting today wingo - DH had me walking for miles! Seriously though we love to chat and we are never in a hurry on holiday.Will hold you to the coffee when you get your kitchen finished. Probably go back to staying at the Premier Inn opposited JC Hospital, think we prefer it but wanted to try the other one.

You're very welcome Sheils The house is literally a shell at the min with every room needing decorating now. Hubby is more old fashioned in taste but I like all the modern decor now so we tend to disagree with everything!
Hope it's not too noisy with the main road at the prem inn for you.

Don't know where hubby's got to! Must be playing with his tools in the garage!

Thanks wingo. We are now at a Hol Inn near Leeds so not near a main road. The PI had triple glazing so traffic noise didn't bother us at all. When we stopped at the Beefeater tonight we were right next to the Wetherby Whaler that your DH told us about. Maybe try it next time.

Had a nice relaxing day off yesterday and am off into the city centre in a couple of hours to spend the afternoon with a friend who's a bit bored (she works in a school so is on holiday).

The co-op closing down 'for a refurb' sale is still on and the prices are now lower. Bargains have included:

4 Gillette shaving blades £1.49
Surf 24 wash detergent £1
All Bran cereal 32p
Hayfever tablets 50p
Bottles of wine £2

I have bought about 5 - 10 of the above items to stock up :j

Doesn't look like work will phone me today again. That's what I get for putting in my availability late! Oh well...more time with the kids and DH can get on with the DIY before he goes back to work.
