Dependants

Hi quick question I hope...... I have a child who stays over 3 nights per week. Instead of CSA taking the full amount off me for maintenance I pay their mother (informally) half of what would be due and as such I pay for things myself for clothes, haircuts, food shopping, school meals ect...along with daily school runs (petrol costs) . How would this be looked on in an SOA ? would my child be classed as a dependant as he doesn't live with me full time but still is part of my monthly costs/outgoings?

Yes, no problems there, just list your reasonable expenses that go on the child.

If you are paying the standard amount and can prove this with bank records etc all the better, it should not be an issue, as it's a reasonable expense...so reasonable ist's less than the law says is payable, so again no trouble there, evidence might not even be required, ORs deal with all kinds of cases, they know about families etc give them the facts and evidence if asked, they are more than reasonable.

No problems, put all expenditure on the SOA.

    Speaking from personal experience.

CSA involvement is not essential..or even advisable if even a semblance of agreement can be arrived at between ex-partners?

Hint......it may well be advisable to 'log' every expenditure, visit, etc?
Just don't' tell the Ex if you do so....but you never know what the future may bring?

Also, you may be surprised at exactly how much expenditure you are put to?

[Don't forget, any pocket-money the children receive from you also counts?]
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
