Laundry Gloop Problem

Thank you for reading.
I have been using laundry gloop and I have been impressed by how clean and soft my clothes are. However even though I am putting tea tree oil in with the vinegar fabric softener the clothes still smell as if a tramp has died in them.
The cleaning is really good and I am reluctant to stop using gloop, but does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for your help, I really appreciate any suggestions.

do they smell bad when they come out of the machine or are they taking a long time to dry? If the latter then clothes do sometimes develop a damp and musty smell.
Do you mean that your clothes smell of BO and rotting meat? If so I don't think that the gloop can be to blame - have you cleared the filter in your machine?0 -

It's when they come out of the machine and they smell like unwashed but well worn clothes/musty. The filter is not accessible, but to be fair clothes were fine last time they were washed in conventional powder last week.
:o:o:o:o I promise that the clothes didn't smell like that when they went in. They were for my father and I didn't think anything would overpower his aftershave. The clothes would have been worn only once or twice and my father is meticulous with personal hygiene.
I am really grateful for your suggestions, though, and I think I will run the washing machine empty on the hottest setting. That may helpAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
I use soda crystals to clean my machine. put a cupful in the drum and put on the hottest setting and wash without clothes in. Hopefully that should do the trick x0

Check on how the outlet pipe from your washer is plumbed in . Low level plumbing without an u-bend ( same as your loo ) is notorious for bad smells in washing . Ideally your discharge pipe should be emptying at least 600mm from the floor into a pipe with a u-bend to stop smells ! .0

We used to have this same problem, clothes came out clean but smelling of damp...
What we did was run the hottest cycle on the machine with soda crystals and a pint of vinegar.
Now we also dry the rubber seal and door with a cloth after each use and leave the door and soap dispenser open a bit when not in use.
All smell has gone!
It is a good idea to run a hot cycle once a month (this is when I put all tea towels to wash) so the high temperature can kill bacteria and nasties living in the system...
Hope this helps!Life comes with many challenges. The ones that should not scare us are the ones we can take on and take control of.0 -
Thank you for all your help and insight. The machine is on its hottest wash as we speak.
I suspect that the plumbing is a problem, not so much the u-bend but the drain it goes into. I shall see what I can come up with.
I really appreciate all the help. I love the results I am getting with gloop!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
