Company error put on credit file after survey HELP!!!

Hi,

My girlfriend (2nd applicant) has one of the credit builder cards where you pay 5 pounds a month to build your rating(stupid I know).

Anyway natwest did a survey on the house yesterday and I checked her credit rating on experian today and see that cashbuilder plus have put a 1 late marker on her acount for 4.99 missed payment this was because they did not take the direct debit! due to an error.

So she has rang them and they said its there error they will fix it but will take 2 weeks to process!. we are now in a situation where the card she took out to help her credit rating has destroyed it just as a mortgage is going through :-(

Does anyone know if natwest will credit check again before sending out the final offer and if so her being the 2nd applicant will this mess it up?

I'm pretty sure they do a second check but don't know for definite.

Personally I would get the company at fault to write a letter on headed paper acknowledging their error and committing to resolve it. While I was waiting for that I would let the solicitor know as well. You could think about contacting the bank and let them know but don't know whether that is the best thing to do or not. They may not withdraw the offer over one late payment mind? I would hope that if they did check you again and had an issue, that they would contact you about it before withdrawing the offer?

I thought I was told that we would be rechecked again after application but before final release of funds ie at completion but not 100%.

Yep. We bought a new build though so there was a bit of a delay between exchange and completion - maybe it was that?
