June has come early....

So, I had made a plan to start a new June Challenge on Friday (1st of June and also payday).

I had a simply terrible weekend moneywise and have decided to start early...

I usually spend:

25pw on dinner & weekend food (my OH also puts 25pw into the 'food pot')
20pw on breakfast / lunch for work.

I am going to try and cut this down as follows:
6.00 per week for Dinners (I'll live off cheap stuff and reduced stuff)
6.00 per week for Breakfast and Lunches (I'll take sarnies and cereal)

This is going to be so tough for me! :o

I HAVE to save a large amount of money this month (June) so I can pay off a large amount from my credit card... I just want to get rid of it!

I can sympathise with you. June is going to be a tough month for me to. I get paid on the 20th of each month, but as my car tax and car insurance were due this time round. I have about £30 leaway. Not good. Let me know how you get on and if I come up with any money saving idea's I'll let you know. Have you tried ebaying or amazoning anything?

Thanks Lucy... great to know I'm not on my little own!

I'll let you know if I do...

You know, I have been thinking about ebaying for absolutely ages... but I haven't got around to it yet... my life is SO busy at the moment and my OH lives on his 'puter 24/7 so it's hard to get on there...
I think he is out tonight, so I will try my best to do this...
Any tips about ebay? I've never even set eyes on the site!

I was never any good at ebay. And as I only have access to the internet at work I can't access it (internet was cut at home as I didn't use it enough to justify the £14.99 spent on it) But I Amazon things. So far I've made about £60 ish. With Amazon they charge you once you have sold something, if an item doesn't sell you don't pay for it, whereas with Ebay you pay up front. But Amazon is really easy. Especially to sell CD's, DVD's and any old computer games that may be lurking around. But Ex loved his computer, but I've made money out of what he left!!

Best to have a look at them yourself. I've found it a good way of clearing my collections, anything I've not watch/listened to is going. Just hard not to be sentimental about some of it. Going to do another cull tonight I think.

ooo! thanks for the tip Lucy!.. ebay does seem to be a bit hectic! I'll have a look at Amazon! thanks! I have around 200 CDs that I want to sell, so this may be perfect...
I'll let you know how I get on!

Please do. I'm even thinking of Amazoning CD's I'm not sure if I want to keep. May just copy them to my computer and if I do decide I want them burn them onto blank CD's! It may work...

Going to look through my book collection to, I studied English Lit at uni so I have hundreds of them.

Good luck and keep me posted.

thanks Skint Catt! I'm off to Netto tonight... bargin hunting! Used to go a very long time ago, but another DFW here told me that there was one near my home!
I'm actually really nervous about all of this...

I have to pay off this Credit Card... it's really getting to me... It's not much but I got a loan from my folks to pay off a large chunk, called Barclaycard to lower my available balance. I thought this would be good (that I have a smaller debt) but as I am now at the top end of my available credit, my credit rating has taken a nosedive!!!

Very very angry and upset... I thought I was getting somewhere!
    Ho-Hum!

Hi Pickle. I find the best way of thinking about this is to imagine where you would be if you hadn't reduced your available credit. Yes you may be near the limit but your not adding to your debt.

This is a good thing. Remember to try and keep smiling, you'll be ok.

Have you posted an SOA Little Pickle? So that we can see where else you can change things?
