Problem with passport...... Please help

Can anyone advise, my son has just looked at his passport and noticed there is a spelling mistake in one of his middle names, It shows the name Janes NOT James.
We are flying out to France next Saturday, and the tickets have first name and surname on them.
The passport was renewed in July last year, but i honestly never noticed the spelling mistake.
Will this make a difference? Can they stop us (him) from travelling?

well if the middle name is not on the tickets then i cant see a problem.

i've booked a holiday recently and the lady has spelt my first AND last name on the tickets!!! and this was the manager of Going places. she said tehy don't reissue tickets but an ammendment has been forwarded to BA. i hope i don't get stranded!!

Not a problem. As the middle name is not on the tickets they won't know or care. Contact the passport agency on your return to get it changed.
