Train from bognor regis to liverpool, return.

help please from the wonderful people who know all about train fares.

my son wants to go to the match at liverpool on august 3rd. leaving from bognor regis. needs to be there around lunchtime. he is 33, no rail cards at all. ive just been looking at national rail and the bog standard return fare, to come back the same or the next day, is £100.

anything cheaper???. ive looked at the advance booking options but after a match at liverpool, im not sure that they can all get the booked train!! so all/any options plse.

Travelling from Chichester to Liverpool overnight each way with National Coaches would be a good deal cheaper. Just leaving the short trip to/from Bognor by train.

I suspect mum might manage to organise a lift to Chi at least!:-)

May be that something has been lost in the translation, but your son is 33 and YOU are researching and running around so that HE can get to his football match? I'm lost for words - what will he do if & when you're not available?

For info, just looked on the national rail website and a return ticket immediately comes up for £70 although the train does arrive in Liverpool at 1310, return journey the following morning.

Sleazy - perhaps the son has special needs? I see plenty when I visit my team's ground, and we're all fans together.

    Having said that... well, yes..
  • I'm the same age it's nice that shes helping her son nothing wrong with that shes only caring for him and helping him save money.Would be a bit worried if he's expecting her to help him without him doing anything himself.
Anyway there's the megabus 5 pound from london to Liverpool on that date and the next day it's 10 pound back on that date.Very cheap and megabus is good much quieter then a train.

Please note folks, it is your duty to read this forum and if you see anyone you can help it is your duty to do so, but if it is a member of your family who needs a bit of help, but they should be able to help themselves, you should not under any circumstances do anything to assist!

Did I lose something in my translation of your post Sleazy?
