can I get a better deal

I've got a mortgage with santander, we've been with them for 10 years never missed or been late with a payment.
Our rate is currently 4.99% not on a fixed rate deal or anything,
I called them to see if they could offer us a better rate and was told they wouldn't offer us anything.
So, do you think I can get a better deal with another bank and how difficult/confusing is the process .
Thanks for any help

oops sorry !
Mortgage amount is £66000, house value £90/95000
Husbands Income £35000, repayment mortgage 19 years left,
A year ago we missed quite a few credit card payments as I lost job and went on a payment plan.0 -
So good equity, low multiplier on earnings but credit record isn't great. Probably worth speaking to a broker to see what they can do, without the payment plan you could be looking at 3% or less.
This should be a lesson to have an emergency savings pot to fall back on and keep spending and credit unde control, as this could save a lot of money in the longer term.0
