Free Eye Test For Everyone at Dollond & Aitchison

What's the deal?
It's possible to get a free Dollond & Aitchison eye test (which has a usual price of £27.50) to everyone, before 10 July, simply by clicking the special link below that I blagged from D&A. The tests are available in all of its 380 branches so (though there are free eye tests in Scotland anyway).
How to get it
To claim the free test, you click on this link: D&A free eye test and either print out the voucher or have one emailed to you (which you'll need to print out at a later date).
Then, simply give Dollond & Aitchison a call on 0800 052 8000 to arrange an examination before 10 July. It's worth mentioning you have this voucher when booking the appointment, plus remember, you MUST take it with you.
The background to this link....
There were a number of D&A free eye test links around the web and posted here in the forum (some with nectar points), but none on the D&A website itself. Yet not all of those links are legit. After calling to check what the score was, D&A offered a special link for this site (there's no commercial relationship) which it promises it will honour.
Also its testing how many people use it (if many do, it will give me more weight in the future to get it to give MoneySavers other deals).
Using the link above will also allow you a voucher for 25% off the purchase of glasses; but before you part with your money, first read both my Glasses Buying and Contact Lens cost cutting articles. Remember just because you get an eye test there doesn't mean you need to get your specs/lenses from it.

Dollond & Aitchson's Ts & Cs
1. Valid until 10/07/07
2. Special offer available at any Branch of D&A on presentation of this voucher.
3. This voucher cannot be used with an NHS eye test or any other eye test offer.
4. This reduction is not dependent on the purchase of a complete pair of glasses
5. Only one voucher per order, which must be surrendered at time of examination.
6. Photocopies will not be accepted.

As the test is free at D and A are they obliged to give you a free prescription. Or will you need to ask (demand) for it.0

Of course in Scotland free eye tests have been available for over a year:

If you are embarrassed about asking for your prescription, just say that you are in a hurry or you will come in again later in the week etc. etc. Then go around a few other retailers and see how their prices compare. Better still and the cheapest, is on the internet. But you are buying from a catalogue and don't get the personal fitting service that way.
Hi
Thanks for reply but if I can just clarify.
I was actually asking a question. Are you entitled to a free prescription at D and A with the free eye test.
