my sister is having a winter wonderland xmas wedding and so in keeping with the theme i wanted to do her xmas fete style hen party. it will be a surprise as she wasnt worried if she had one or not and she doesnt drink so doing the whole going out taccy night is out of the question. so i have come up with the idea of trying to create a xmas fete hen party with an afternoon tea. i was thinking of saying £15 per guest there will be no more than 10 people as i will be doing this at my house and the idea was to make some hen party tokens and to exchange these for goes on games etc. i was going to make a raffle so each guest for £15 would get a raffle ticket, a sheet of hen tokens to use and afternoon tea. Does this sound unreasonable, or can anyone think of any xmas fete style games.any ideas or input would be great even if its an opinion on the whole idea. Many thanks in advance

Why not see if you can find someone to come & do a decorations masterclass? Or make Christmas / wedding cookies?0

Wow!! I think that sounds amazing!! If I were the bride I'd be so happy with that! And as a guest I'd be more than happy to pay that/be really excited to attend!0

I think this would be a great idea, I'd happily pay £15 for that too, since some hen parties I've been on have cost £250+!
For games
Lucky dip? Get a big box and fill with stredded paper - then wrap (in Christmas paper, how handy!) some little gifts? These could be Christmas decorations (you can get a pack and split), mini bottles of toiletries - either split a gift pack type thing from B&Ms / Homebargains or even better look for freebies and samples given away! Mini packs of Christmas themed sweets too. Means that everyone goes away home with something, if they don't win any of the other games!
Guess the number of snowballs in a jar? A jar filled with mini marshmallows tied with a ribbon, guess the number to win it! Only thing is you'd have to count them in! You don't have to use a very big jar though!
Throwing Christmas baubles to land in a jar etc? Guess the weight of the turkey to win it?! (would probably be expensive to purchase though!) but could be a laugh!
Mince pie eating? have these tied onto string and you've to eat without using your hands?
If you or your guests are crafty types you could do decorating Christmas baubles? I did these onces as favours at a Christmas themed hen party and they went down really well!
Hope that gives you some things to go on!0 -
How about doing the game where everyone anonymously brings something and the bride has to identify (from each object) who brought it and why. You could Xmassise it by wrapping each one up as a gift and putting them all under the tree.
Then I started thinking about sitting on Santa's knee but that probably needs booze
And I LOVE the idea of mince pie eating!0 -
You could do a pin the beard on the Santa? Or nose on Rudolph? Guess the weight of the Xmas cake might be cheaper that turkey (and less salmonella lol). I was going to suggest bauble decorating- I did pottery painting at a hen do once and it was really nice to take something home to remember the day.0
