Can't get a Credit Carrd :-/

They can ask the CRA's to do it as soon as you ask, but the CRA's sometimes take a while to update your credit files.
I recently had some late payment markers removed; Experian removed them the day my bank asked, Equifax took about 3 days and Noddle a few weeks (Noddle updates once a month). A lot of people say Equifax is slowest though.
Yes - go to FOS if they won't remove it. You have a written admission of their fault so they can't really argue the default is valid.
I would email ceo@santander.co.uk - I did this about a default matter which wasn't my fault last week at about 7pm one evening. It was a polite email, to the point, and just explaining that after trying various calls to the call centre I was finding it hard to get someone to understand why the incorrect default was upsetting me so much, and wondered whether they could possibly help in any way? Received a call at 10am the next morning from an extremely helpful person and the matter was resolved, plus a £50 goodwill gesture payment by midday (which I wasn't expecting). Definitely worth a try.0 -
Ok well i've just gone through my last correspondence with them and they clearly admit responsibility, otherwise why else would they as they put it 'enclose a cheque for £603.55 as a gesture of goodwill to clear the outstanding debt'.
I've just wrote to them asking for them to remove the default.
I didn't even know that this could be done, does it usually take long?
If they don't remove the default, should I get in touch with the FOS?
Gesture of goodwill is not an admission of wrong doing or liability.
On occasions it is quicker and cheaper simply to close the matter. Than continue protracted correspondence and argument. As a consequence Santander may well have decided that you were too much trouble to deal with again in the future. A bank like any business can choose its customers.
I would suggest building a new fresh relationship with another bank.0
