Thanks, I'll be doing this and using the Groupon M&S voucher.
So works out at only £5. :j

    Think I'll go for:
    Oakham Chicken
    Med Veg (possibly Parmentier Potatoes)
Choc Muddle (or cheese selection if not available in my small local)
    Pinot Grigio

    Almost sorted. lol

I would have opted for the Montepulciano if it had been a full bottle!!

Just a heads up, but the Pinot Grigio is only a 50cl bottle!!
    I took the Chardonnay. lol

Chickens really varied in size, from about £3.50 - £6 in price.
Marked as 'main meal' and all were medium - obviously an enormous difference in 'medium'.

I'm pretty sure not. The computer till only lets it be an offer when all four component parts are put through.

Was a bit disappointed this time with the deal - the chickens were a bit smaller than normal and the range of wine not so great.

    Still got it though.

Thanks Chesky, of course that makes sense. I think with the chickens it makes a difference when you go as the bigger ones obviousy get taken first.

My chicken is in the oven now, well half of it.
I was lucky enough to get a decent sized one (£5.90) and too big for just the 2 of us. Other half frozen for another day.
I ended up with the parmentier potatoes and adding some roast veg.

I go to the other supermarkets near M&S and check out their produce reductions. So if I buy some new potatoes in a herby butter in the reduced for 40p, then I buy some veg as my side for the deal and vice versa.

Oh, I know that and have absolutely no shame about searching through looking for the biggest. No, I was there at the 'crack of dawn' - well 8am. I got one which was £5.78p and I normally find one at least £1 more. Just seemed that this particular consignment looked on average a bit smaller than in the past. Anyway, just eaten some of it for Sunday lunch and it did taste pretty good.

To get a biggish chicken in my store, I find I need to be there on the first day i.e. the Thursday.
