AArrrgggghhh Not Been PAID!

I had to ask Payroll to pay me by cheque this month as there wasn't enough time for them to transfer payment details to my new account. So the rest of the NHS got paid on Friday. No cheque arrived for me. Anxious, but trying to stay calm, I waited till the postman had been today. No Cheque!

So I've just rung Payroll and had one of those "I don't care about you having to investigate, and check systems, just give my my money today!" type conversations. Well it's not like I can live for a few days on bleeding credit is it!

Pray for me, she has promised to transfer payment direct to my account today, but this is the NHS we are talking about

And breeeeeeeathe!

At least they were prepared to give you a cheque. I work for the NHS too & when I asked about having a cheque, I was basically told get another account sorted by the payroll deadline or prepare to live on air until I do get one as they don't issue salary cheques to permanent staff unless the fault is Payroll's. :(

OMG that's excessively harsh! Could your manager not have helped you sort it out? I'm certain that had my yelling at payroll this morning not got me anywhere, my manager would have been down there sorting it for me!

I didn't tell my manager anything about it, as she's new-ish & I don't know her well enough to discuss my business with her. I did the yelling at the Co-op instead & got the account sorted out in time myself. :)

Ooooh you guys are scaring me, I also work in the NHS and my BR date is 6 July!

Going to get a cashminder account sorted tomorrow! Do you think I will get my account number and sort code tomorrow to give to work?? Or is that just wishful thinking??

I doubt you'll get the details straight away unless your applying at a branch this may be quicker I don't know, I contacted them over the phone and details took around 4-5 days to reach me.

Took about a week to get my Nationwide details, and I applied in the branch. Payroll needed minimum 2 weeks notice of the change.
