How early can I start to remortgage?

As rates seem to be on the rise, I was wondering how early I can remortgage. My current deal Abbey 4.39% expires in Jan 2008. I will need to borrow £160K my house is worth £420K. Income enough to support mortgage. I was thinking about a 5 year fix but can be flexible if there are any better rates around. All replies greatly appreciated.

There are lenders that can issue offer letters that are valid for 3, 6 and 12 months, so in theory you can look that early to get a deal sorted out for you. You have to be careful that the deal chosen does not have an expiry date sooner than the expiry of the offer letter thoughI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Sorry to hijack the thread, but I always thought that mortgage offers expired after 3 months. Which lenders offer 12 month ones? Is there a higher interest rate for this priviledge? Only my 2 year fixed is up in April of next year.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
