Hi everyone... not sure this is right place!!!
First time posting on this board... and was wondering if anyone could suggest something to use for a "splashmat" to go under my 7month olds highchair...
We are giving her more and more finger foods, and as you can imagine.... they get thrown everywhere... and if they fall on the carpet, they get covered in fluff and have to be thrown away and give her fresh stuff...
These splashmat things are about £8 from M/Care or Boots etc and are plasticy, so things can be picked up and given back without fluff. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of something cheaper to use... has to be fluff free!!!
Thanks in advance guys...

Hi, Lyns, and welcome to Old Style! I remember finger foods. DD would pick up pieces that she didn't like, look me in the eye, and drop them onto the floor :rotfl: :rotfl:
I bought a piece of plastcicised cotton (designed as table covers) with a clown pattern on. Wipe clean and it even went into the washing machine on cool.

Keep your eyes peeled in the parenting mags as they often give away these mats. I got an SMA one for DS that way and it has an alphabet frieze on it too so he has enjoyed finding things on it if I say where is the umbrella etc. More fun than on a book as he can go and stand on the right picture. I think it was from Mother and Baby and was the only reason I bought the magazine (so that worked didn't it?)0

Hi
I would go with the shower curtain option! I bought half a dozen from Asda (Smart Price, i think they were 99p each)when I was expecting my daughter as I was having a home birth and was going to use them to protect the bed. Unforatunately my home birth didnt happen so i was left with 6 shower curtains! My daughter is 2 now and I have used them for all sorts of things, under the high chair ; great as you can just stick them in the washing machine when they get grubby, on the kitchen table for when we do painting or play dough, when I am cutting my other half's hair I put one down on the floor, as dust sheets when we have been decorating, and in the garden under a blanket if the grass is damp! A great investment, money well spent!0 -
Off I go to Asda this week then.... but must make sure I walk straight to relevant aisle and only take a couple of £ in cash...
I am awful in Supermarkets...

I used to always keep an eye out for the free one's with the parenting magazines too.
I also had some offcuts of lino left over from my kitchen which I used too.0 -
I used to use the mat from the "Twister" game!0
