I am going to see natwest later this week.

One of my colleagues in a similar situation has taken a different approach... he has opened a new current account with Lloyds TSB which has a £950 interest free overdraft on it (in addition to his current HSBC account which has the £3K student overdraft).... what are peoples thoughts about doing something like this?

Again when I was a student this was fairly common practice for students to open a couple of student accounts to collect the perks for opening the account and to benefit from 2 overdrafts.

It's a gamble as the new bank will be able to see from your credit file that you already have a student account with an OD that is almost maxed out.

    Worth a shot perhaps.

    :D
