Just had to share - brownie points for DH in great abundance

He had a quick look at the insurance policy before he cancelled it & realised he might be able to make a claim. So he called - & he can claim. Forms have been e-mailed to him & now printed off - possibility of £300 after having been off 30 days - & since his total signing off is 3 months - well :j:j:j

Ok - joyfulness over - back to work for me

Well - last night's plans went well & truly up in smoke - I did total how much we spend on servicing debt each month - then I needed I lie down.
So tonight will be last night (if that makes sense)

I did fill out DH's insurance form last night for him - and today he's gong to take it to his work to get it signed & stamped & then take it to the Drs for completion so it can be sent off pronto style.

Today will be a cheap day in work as we're getting pizza supplied for lunch :j. I'll have to bring it back to my desk as I'm busy - but it's free :D.

Anyway - onwards & upwards folks...

Many apologies (to myself as well) for not reporting in yesterday - work was seriously manic.....but all is calm now as it's Saturday. I seem to lose the oomph if I don't post daily.

    So what has been done?
    • DH has been paid so the bank account monthly shuffle hs been done to let the direct debits get paid.
    • Cheque came from DVLA for unused road tax this morning & has now been banked :j
    • DH PPI cheque came through & has been banked (only a small amount but better than a poke in the eye):j
    • DH £1.33 credit balance has appeared in his account - party time folks :p
    • Turned out the wrong insurance docs had been sent to DH for being sick - so he has managed to arrange for the right ones to be sent through now
    • Claim for his physio has been approved & is winging it's way to his bank account
    • Spreadsheet drawn up with all outstanding debts (the total has shamed me :() with spaces to put in the details of how much we are overpaying each month on one to clear it down. Sounds sad - but I loves my spreadsheets:D
    • Packing stuff has been bought(cheaply - from £1 shop) so that goods sold on e-bay tomorrow can be packaged up immediately to be posted as soon as they are paid

So, it's been a busy day of piddliness - but def getting there. I had notes in the diary to chase up the Road Tax refund on Monday - it was great to get the mail & score it off.

Today - I still need to set up the "OWL" electric energy monitor. This will be a challenge - but I will succeed. And then tomorrow we're having a day out as DH wants to head back to work next week - so it looks like we're going to have a rake around a good car boot. Sadly, for me, this is fun..

So folks - I'm off for now - away to fight with the OWL. Have a good day folks.

    Good morning people

Well - as predicted, yesterday turned in to a day of mostly relaxation & slobbing :o

I did, however, spend time amalgamating and updating the address books - so now we have one current address book. It had to be done - our old book still had my Dad's address and both of our Mum's addresses in it - you can't score these out and it hurts to see them. So shiny new address book it is (& yes, the other ones have been kept).

I also set up the OWL on Saturday to monitor the electric usage. Now, I'm not saying DH is on board with this, but the fact that he kept asking if I really needed that light on or was it worth spending the money to have a cup of tea kind of makes me think he is on board.

Also - e-bay was kind to me yesterday - 7 out of 8 items have sold :j:j and all have paid - a trip to the PO is on the cards at lunchtime.

So here I am, once again at work - flask of coffee beside me to keep me awake and alert

Not sure what tonight's plans of piddliness are - but I'll work on that during the day.

    Have fun folks.

    God bless you Tesco :D

The out of date vouchers I posted off - letter arrived yesterday with apologies but because they were so out of date they couldn't re-issue them but here's a £20 gift card anyway :j:j

And all e-bay parcels were posted off, and feedback given to buyers on e-bay. I keep forgetting how long the e-bayness takes from start to finish but as I had no plans anyway it's no great hardship.

SO DH & I have agreed that this month's grocery spend will be a maximum of £200 & he has been dispatched to take that out the ATM so we'll have a cash only month

And that's about it - after the excitement of e-bay I had a quiet night - but on to bigger & better things tonight....
